TORSO's blood-drenched Annihilation Day incoming

July 15, 2025

Looking forward to dropping TORSO's Annihilation Day album on 29th August.

Annihilation Day tells the twisted tale of a small-town university campus invaded in 1984 by an escaped madman and ex-student on prom night. The town’s fate lies in the hands of two girls, Rita and Christine… and all hell breaks loose!

It's TORSO’s most ferocious and focused statement yet: a blood-drenched blend of thrash, sludge, black metal and NWOBHM. Featuring guest vocals from cult heroes Sam Marsh (Jacob's Mouse), Paul Waller (OHHMS), and Thomas House (Charlottefield), this is raw underground metal at its finest.

Can't wait for you all to hear it.

Spider Kitten make the Doom Charts

July 04, 2025

Congrats to Spider Kitten. They've made this month's Doom Charts. In at number 21.

"New album The Truth Is Caustic To Love is once again a different side of the band, stretching yet another one of its many legs" they say.

"Fourteen songs, thirty-seven minutes. Grunge powering down, sludge slamming it home, offset by Americana-touched strumming and open, personal and vulnerable songwriting that turns much of the songs into a confessional statement. Another album that weaves and builds their gigantic web of heaviness."

If you've yet to hear it... get it in your ears. Vinyl, CDs, tapes and tees available in our shop here on the APF website

Spider Kitten Release Day

June 27, 2025

Spider Kitten Release Day

Today’s the day. Spider Kitten return with: ‘THE TRUTH IS CAUSTIC TO LOVE’, out now on APF Records.

It's an emotionally raw, inventive, unclassifiable and thrilling record. It encompasses everything from psychedelic doom to grunge-infused metal, with doses of sludge, squalling feedback and a Randy Newman cover for good measure. If you've ever enjoyed Killdozer, Alice In Chains, Melvins or all things Americana, there's something for you here.

Their most brutally honest and emotionally raw release to date, it sees the Welsh experimental doom collective dig deeper into their own mythology while exploring love, loss, betrayal, and the shattering of illusions — all drenched in volume, atmosphere, and that unmistakable Kitten alchemy.

Founded in 2001 by Chi Lameo, Spider Kitten have carved out a cult-like following with their shapeshifting catalogue and refusal to stay confined to one genre. Doom, sludge, ambient, punk, prog, drone — they’ve done it all. But on The Truth Is Caustic To Love, the band pare things back to the bone. “The idea was to write something devastating,” says Chi. “No characters, no narrative devices — just the truth. Ugly, raw, and painfully honest.”

Sonically, the album traverses sparse acoustic passages, bleak atmospheres, and colossal riffs — each track building like emotional pressure that eventually ruptures in cathartic release. It’s music for the broken-hearted and the battle-scarred. But it’s also defiant. Alive. And unflinchingly real.

This is Spider Kitten at their most stripped back and soul-baring — but also more vital than ever.

The Truth Is Caustic To Love is available her on the APF website on limited edition vinyl, CD, tape, and t-shirt. Get it in your ears.

Stream it on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube etc through this link: https://linktr.ee/APFRecords

"The more I listen, the more addicted I become, and the more I start to understand Spider Kitten. The more time spent with this album, the more I see its quality. Which I think will happen for just about everyone who dares to take a chance on this very unique record." – gbhbl.com

"It offers something for everyone, and hits that sweet spot each and every time.” – The Razor’s Edge

"Musically it’s doom-laden, psych-infused, avant-garde, bizarre metal. Dark and bluesy, it bleeds disdain and pain.” – Metal Temple

“The record gives a strong feeling of a band completely at ease with themselves and creating something unique from that state.” – Nine Hertz
